		SHARED LEADERSHIP

Welcome to the Shared Leadership module. First, let's use a short video to guide your thinking. The following clip comes from the movie "Hoosiers" that tells the true story of a basketball team from the small town of Hickory, Indiana. This clip is near the end of the movie, with Coach Dale (played by Gene Hackman) and the Hickory "Huskers" getting ready for the state championship game. There is a somber tone in the locker room because the opposing team is heavily favored.
		SHARED FACTORS
		NEUTRAL FACTORS
How many of the factors that you labeled in your top eight fall into the leader-centric explanation for effective leadership? If you selected three or four leader-centric factors then you might tend toward a leader-centric explanation of effective leadership. This chapter does not seek to prove you wrong since individual behavior is clearly important. Rather, we seek to broaden your perspective and draw your attention to the powerful impact of adopting the shared perspective.
